About the Sydney Anglican Stamp Society (SASS)
Since its inception in 1972, the society has prioritised supporting Missions and Missionaries. SASS directly contributes to the Church Missionary Society (CMS) by sorting vast quantities of donated stamps and arranging for the sale of these stamps through auctions at our regular meetings, maintaining country stockbooks and by online sales (including eBay). The membership's enjoyable work has raised in excess of $350,000 for this mission society alone over the past 30 years.
Membership is primarily open to stamp collectors who are members of a Christian Church though people who are not of Christian faith may join the society as Associate Members. To apply, please fill out the application form available at meetings. Financial membership entitles a member to attend the regular two-monthly meetings, receive six copies of 'Nu- Issue,' the SASS Newsletter, and other correspondence on philatelic matters of interest. Members have the right to vote in the annual elections and may stand for appointment to the Committee as provided for in the Society’s Constitution. The annual membership fee is currently $10.00.
SASS is managed by a committee consisting of a President, two Vice-Presidents, Treasurer, and Secretary. Each of these positions is elected annually.
You can purchase many of the donated stamps from the CMS eBay store.
SASS is affiliated with the Philatelic Association of NSW (PHILAS)
